Michael Hagmaier serves as the Senior Vice President of the United Veterans of American. Mr. Hagmaier has worked as a School Adjustment Counselor, and as a Social Skills Development Tutor in the Pittsfield public schools; he also coaches the varsity football team at Taconic High School in Pittsfield. Mr. Hagmaier holds the Bachelor of Art Degree in Sociology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. |

Steven E. Como is UVA's Executive Vice President and Director of Government Relations. Since May of 2002, Mr. Como has worked with federal, state, and local government agencies, having developed relationships with the VA, HUD, DOL, and the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Como also has taken on a number of administrative responsibilities at UVA's facilities. Mr. Como brings 24 years of Corrections experience with him, and a wealth of experience in facilities development. Mr. Como has attended Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Southern Vermont College; he holds a Certificate in Fund Raising from UMass Amherst. |
George Hinckley

George T. Hinckley serves veterans as UVA's Vice President for Treatment Services. Mr. Hinckley holds the Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College, and the Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College; additionally Mr. Hinckley has earned his CADAC II and LADC I certifications. He brings professional experience in court referred programs, clinical supervision, and counseling, as well as invaluable experience as a professional firefighter. Mr. Hinckley is a veteran of the U.S. Army, 759th Military Police Battalion. |
David Hutchinson

In many ways the "face" of UVA is that of David Hutchinson. "Hutch" often is the first acquaintance made by newcomers to UVA. Hutch works with vets on the vet's primary intake, putting into motion all the forms and requests needed to qualify vets for benefits, get a bed at UVA, and take those first steps on the road to recovery. A valued member of the senior staff, Hutch is an uncompromising advocate for veterans. |

Sandra L. Lussier currently serves as Executive Assistant to Mr. Downing. Ms Lussier's duties include all aspects of Human Resources. Ms. Lussier maintains databases, oversees internal communications, correspondence, and payroll records and logistics for UVA's facilities. Ms. Lussier also serves as secretary to the UVA Board of Trustees. |

Pastor Jim Gregory's ministry includes the formerly homeless veterans living with UVA in Leeds, Massachusetts. Having been taught and trained for ministry in his home church, Victory Chapel, now in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Pastor Gregory was ordained and commissioned into the ministry under the authority of the Christian Fellowship Ministries in the spring of 1990. Pastor Gregory and his wife, Julie, serve as the Pastorate of Victory Chapel in Holyoke, Massachusetts. |

Wil Durant's resume is a litany of public service and altruism fueled by faith. From his early days of public service to children and families, including the birth of Head Start, to his mentoring of young people as a college instructor, to his service as a non-profit executive, Reverend Durant's career is highlighted by a series of outstanding achievements. Wil Durant lives the words of the Apostle James, "Faith, without good works, is dead." Including his service as one of UVA's chaplains, Wil Durant's faith is alive, indeed. |

As UVA's Director of Outreach Willie Van Ledbetter visits prisons, jails, shelters, and boarding houses in an effort to bring veterans to a more appropriate place to begin recovery. Mr. Ledbetter has worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide and as a Certified Home Health Aide. Responding to the agency's needs, Mr. Ledbetter willingly has served in a number of capacities at UVA, including that of General Manager. The consummate team player, Mr. Ledbetter is a veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry. |

As UVA's General Manager for Facilities and Transportation, Tony Lopez arranges and coordinates transportation for veterans across Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, and Berkshire counties, and into Connecticut. By facilitating safe, reliable transportation for the veterans in our care, and sometimes for vets outside the UVA community, Tony is responsible for veterans arriving on time and safely for medical appointments, legal obligations, and employment. Tony also coordinates access to services and programs off campus, and sees to it that veterans receive the goods and services to which they are entitled. Tony is a veteran of U.S. Navy service. |

Sam Bennett lives the principles of integrity, dignity, and hope that are fundamental to UVA's mission. As a Case Manager, Sam provides counseling to chemically dependent, dual-diagnosed homeless veterans. Sam previously served as a counselor in a community based shelter in Northampton. Sam has completed his CADAC at Westfield State College. Sam Bennett is a veteran of U.S. Army service. |

Kerry Lynn Lahey brings years of direct service to her duties as a Case Manager at UVA's Leeds shelter. Ms. Lahey has worked as a counselor, operations coordinator, career specialist, and service coordinator in the workforce training field, as well as a public school teacher. Ms. Lahey earned the Bachelor of Science in Education at North Adams State College (now Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts). |
Dan McGrath

Dan McGrath brings to his duties as Substance Abuse Counselor a deep understanding of addiction and mental health issues. After using his teaching degree in the traditional manner, Dan brought his intelligence and empathy to the Corrections system in Massachusetts. Dan has helped inmates in halfway houses and in jails in Middleton, Framingham, Holyoke, and Northampton. Dan holds the BA in American Cultural Studies from UMass Amherst, where he also earned his Secondary Education Teacher Certification. Dan went on for his MA in Counseling at Gordon Conwell, and earned his Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counseling (CADAC) from Westfield State College. |

Laurie Sarafin McGrath brings to UVA's Women's Program tremendously valuable experience working with substance abuse, criminal offenders, and homeless populations. She has provided individual counseling, case management, screening and intake, and staff supervision; Laurie also brings to UVA important administrative experience. Laurie holds a B.A. in Social Work from Elms College. Her work experience includes service to the Hampden County House of Correction, the Silver Street Inn, and the Franklin County Overnight Emergency Shelter. |
